The Lut desert, somewhere near Shahdad City, is one of the best sites to see this astounding structure. The appearance of these Nebkas, which is like a vase around a tree, is where the meaning of their name come from.Īs mentioned, a kalut is the child of wind erosion in sand and dust. Some of these Nebkas are shaped around trees and fixed. Nebkas are geological phenomena produced by wind erosion, a kind of sand dune mostly form around vegetation. Pass a few kilometers from Shahdad to visit an amazing natural structure called Nebka. The Kaluts and that part of the Lut Desert were part of the first day of our 3-day road trip from Kerman. After admiring the 1,000 -year- old cypress tree, the way leads to the small village of Shahdad (near Dehseyf). We paid for our car and driver U$100 for three days.įrom Kerman, the road crosses the 2,600-m Sirch Mountains, as you reach the village of Sirch. Rent a car with driver and add a few extra days to visit Kerman region: Bam, Rayen, and Mahan.Go with a taxi for the day for around 900,000 IRR.Feasible, but we did not see many cars on that road while we were there.
